Terms of Service
Clear terms for using Scamy across different countries, privacy expectations, data handling, and the limits of automated scam analysis.
Important note
These terms are written to be clearer for users, but they are not a substitute for legal review. If Scamy is offered commercially or to users in multiple jurisdictions, have qualified counsel confirm the final wording for the countries where you operate.
1. User Responsibilities
You agree to use Scamy for lawful scam-safety review only. Do not upload content that is illegal, malicious, abusive, or infringes another person's rights. You are responsible for the content you submit and for the decisions you make after receiving an analysis.
2. Data Handling
Scamy does not save scan submissions to a Scamy database. Uploaded files are stored temporarily for the analysis attempt, sent to OCR.space to extract text, and then deleted by Scamy immediately after the request finishes. Text, URLs, and extracted file text are sent to OpenAI to produce the scam analysis. Because screenshots and documents can contain sensitive details, you should remove or crop anything that is not needed for the review before uploading it.
3. International Use
Scamy may be accessed by users in different countries and regions. Privacy rights, consumer-protection rules, reporting duties, and scam-reporting channels can vary depending on where you live, where the other party is located, and which services are involved. You are responsible for following the laws and rules that apply to you.
4. Disclaimers and No Guarantees
Scamy provides automated analysis based on AI and common scam patterns. We cannot guarantee that every result is correct, complete, or current. The tool is for general information only and is not legal, financial, banking, insurance, cybersecurity, or law-enforcement advice.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Scamy, its developers, and affiliates are not liable for losses, damages, or harm arising from use of the service, including financial loss, data loss, missed scams, incorrect warnings, or actions taken in reliance on an analysis. Use the service as one input, not as the only source for important decisions.
6. Governing Law and Local Rights
These terms are intended to operate alongside any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable local law. Where a local law gives you a right that cannot legally be limited by these terms, that right continues to apply. If a specific governing jurisdiction is required, it should be confirmed before publication with qualified legal advice.
7. Questions and Updates
We may update these terms as the service changes. If you have questions about the terms, privacy, or how the service handles submitted scam-check content, contact scamyhelpdesk@gmail.com.
