No Scamy Database Storage

Scamy does not save submitted messages, URLs, extracted text, images, or PDFs to a Scamy database as part of the scanner flow.

Temporary File Handling

Uploaded files are written to temporary server storage only long enough to extract text. Scamy deletes that temporary upload immediately after the analysis attempt finishes.

Third-Party AI and OCR

Submitted text, URLs, and extracted file text are sent to OpenAI for scam analysis. Uploaded files are sent to OCR.space only to extract readable text from images and PDFs.

What We Analyze

Scamy analyzes the text, URLs, images, and PDFs you submit through the scanner. The AI looks for patterns, keywords, links, urgency tactics, impersonation cues, payment pressure, and other red flags commonly associated with scams. The analysis is automated and does not involve human review by Scamy.

Retention Time

Scamy retains uploaded files only for the duration of the analysis request. Temporary server files are deleted immediately after the request finishes, including when file analysis fails. Scamy does not create a scanner-history database or user account record from submitted scan content.

PDPA Commitment

We take privacy seriously and aim to operate in line with the spirit of Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) by minimizing data handling and avoiding unnecessary retention. We do not describe this page as a formal PDPA certification unless such certification has been independently obtained.

Third-Party Services

Scamy uses OpenAI to generate the scam analysis. For uploaded images and PDFs, Scamy uses OCR.space to extract text before analysis. These services process the submitted content needed to provide the scanner result and operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Scamy also uses Vercel analytics/performance tooling and Google AdSense on selected public pages.
